We've been in Portland for a week now and have had a lot of fun exploring the city and setting up our apartment. There are a lot of cool shops, stores and bars to see and experience here! So far we have eaten tasty seafood, drank some local beers, and cooked with veggies bought from the awesome farmers market just a few minutes walk from our house.
On Saturday of our first weekend here Maeve's parents showed up with a car-full of items for the house. We spent some time setting up the apartment, and then went out to an amazing seafood dinner at Street and Co. The next day we drove south to Cape Porpoise to where Maeve's parents were staying and spent the day at the beach. It was a beautiful day to be outside, and the water was warm enough for a quick swim. In the evening we went out to dinner at a nice restaurant in Cape Porpoise called Pier 77.
Just a few days later we drove south to Cape Cod to stay with Mike's parents in their rental house for a few days. The ocean, bay and pond beaches were very enjoyable, and some spectacular sand castles were built, and then quickly swallowed up by the oncoming tide.
Now we are back in Portland taking care of a few 'real life' items before Monday when Maeve starts her classes and Mike begins his contract work.

PS: We will post some pics of our apartment once we finalize moving in all of our stuff.
